A technical session

Purpose:

Match Related: 2v1 to cones and 2v2 to endlines

Slowly add pressure but at a rate at which players confidence is built up. Playing to endlines and dribbling through cone goals. Emphasis is on success with limited pressure.

Match Condition: 3v3 to goal.

Emphasis is on competing in as real a game environment as possible with limited coaching points. When the points are made, be quick, emphasize success and return to the game.

Coaching Points:

  • Make the move with enough time and space
  • Keep the body between the ball and the opponent
  • Accelerate away from pressure
  • Add a fake to freeze the defenders
  • Body position should be low for a good center of gravity
